The Pradesh Congress Committee member, Mr I. Raghuraju, resigned from the party on Friday angry over being replaced as the candidate for the local Assembly segment.
Mr Raghuraju was first given a ticket to contest from the local Assembly segment which was later allotted to Mr A.K.V. Joginaidu.
Protesting against the party high command’s decision, Mr Raghuraju filed papers as an Independent. His wife Ms Subbalakshmi and brother Mr Ramaraju also filed papers as Independents.
