Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today agreed to the proposal to regularize the encroachments of eligible BPL people for 80 sq. yards, particularly in the slum areas with ration cards as proof, if they satisfy other terms and conditions like genuine occupancy of the area.
He held a review meeting on regularisation of Government lands under GO 166 with minister and officials at Secretariat.
The Government has introduced the scheme of transfer of rights on certain occupations/encroachments of specified categories of unassigned Government lands in the State by way of structures or otherwise on payment basis in GO 166 dated February 16, 2008.
Certain guidelines were framed for regularising the eligible encroachments on production of prescribed documents. The Collectors have regularized the proposals up to 80 sq. yards on free of cost to the eligible poor. The majority of the applications were received in Districts of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy.
