Those two news papers conspired against PRP

The ‘two papers’ conspiracy is now being extended to the Praja Rajyam Party, if one goes by the news that has been appearing for over one week. The ‘two papers’ was first mentioned by the Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, when he assumed charge for the first time in 2004. The two papers – Eenadu and Andhra Jyothi – have carried series of news reports against Dr Reddy and the Congress government. They even continue to do the same after the return of Dr Reddy to power.
Branded as the mouth pieces of Telugu Desam, both Eenadu and Andhra Jyothi have been openly writing stories against the Congress and the Chief Minister. They carried out intensive campaign against the Congress and Dr Reddy before the 2009 elections and created hype in favour of the Telugu Desam-led Grand Alliance.
However, even after the return of the Congress, the two papers continue to plant stories against the Congress and its government. Now, the columns of these two papers are filled with news that would damage the Praja Rajyam
Party. The two papers have been carrying news about the possibility of the PRP merging with the Congress. Taking strong exception to the news, PRP chief, Chiranjeevi, said the two papers have conspired to damage the party.
The Eenadu had come out with a lead story on the MLAs meeting with the party secretary, Allu Aravind, where in they have reportedly proposed to merge the party with the ruling Congress.
However, Chiranjeevi and other MLAs of the party have denied the report and alleged that Eenadu was trying to destroy the party to help the Telugu Desam come back to power.
